J&K has become tourist hostspot from terrorist hotspot: Amit Shah

New Delhi, India: In the year-end review from the Union Home Ministry under Amit Shah,  it has been stated that the actions of the security agencies have led to a reduction in terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding a complete control of the security force son terrorism has been established.

As per statistics, the count of terrorism-caused deaths in Jammu and Kashmir had reached 42,000, but it was only under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership that the menace could be controlled. Home Minister Amit Shah stated, “There has been about 54 per cent reduction in terrorist incidents, 84 per cent in the deaths of security forces and about 22 per cent in the recruitment of terrorists.”

Home Minister Amit Shah has always appreciated the efforts of the security agencies, which have led to a reduction of terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir over the last few years.

As per the data from MHA, the number of terrorism incidents has declined from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021. At the same time, the number of martyrs in 2021 was 42, which in 2018 was 91.

Home Minister Shah has directed to further strengthen the security grid to ensure the least possible border infiltration to eliminate the extent of terrorism in the country. Summarizing the year-end review of 2022 and compiling Home Minister Shah’s suggestions and advisories, the MHA reinstated that there is complete control of the security forces on terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

MHA also mentioned Home Minister Shah’s speech from the inaugural event of 240 projects in Srinagar on October 5, 2022, which reads, “Under the rule of three families for 70 years, only Rs. 15,000 crore investment came into Jammu and Kashmir and Shri Modi has brought investment of Rs. 56,000 crores in just three years.”

He further added that Jammu and Kashmir used to be a terrorist hotspot, which has now become a tourist hotspot. Statistically, the Kashmir Valley draws 6 lakh tourists annually, but in this year, the number of tourists has reached 22 lakh, which implies the generation of employment for thousands of citizens in the valley.

Additionally, the incidents of stone pelting in Jammu and Kashmir have reduced to none under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership. The PM’s development package has led to the establishment of 63 projects at the cost of Rs. 80,000 crores, including Hydro Power Electricity, the work of the Kiru Project at the cost of Rs 4287 crore, which is under progress.

Earlier, the explanation of Jamhooriyat in Kashmir was only three families, 87 MLAs and 6 MPs, but now 30,000 people have been linked to the jamhooriyat “by taking democracy to the village panches, sarpanches, BDC members and Zilla Panchayats,” the ministry document highlighted.

Following the effect of Article 370, Gurjar-Bakarwal and Paharis were unable to benefit from the reservation in education, elections and jobs, but by scrapping this article, these communities can get the reservation benefits.

According to Shah’s statement, the three ruling families, in 70 years, brought in only Rs 15,000 crore to Jammu and Kashmir, whereas PM Modi has brought investment of Rs 56,000 crore in just three years.

Amit Shah further urged the security forces and police officials to pro-actively conduct coordinated counter-terrorism operations to fulfil PM Narendra Modi’s vision of a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
