US, UK & France hail Air India-Airbus-Boeing multi-billion dollars deal

New Delhi, India: The leaders of the Western nations– US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron showered praises over Air India’s multi-billion dollar deals with Airbus and Boeing for the acquisition of passenger aircraft. Air India will be acquiring 250 Aircraft from Airbus, along with 290 planes from Boeing as its growth strategy.

As Boeing publicized, Air India selected 190 737 MAX, 10 777X airplanes and 20 787 Dreamliner. The agreement between Boeing and Air India also consists of options for 50 additional 737 MAXs and 20 787-9s aircraft.

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, had a telephonic conversation with US president Joe Biden, welcoming the landmark agreement between Air India and Boeing, terming it as an example of mutually beneficial cooperation. Moreover, the leaders appreciated the growing India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnerships.

At the same time, US President Joe Biden expressed pride over the historic agreement of the purchase of 200-American built aircraft. Highlighting the economic prospects of the deal, Biden asserted that the deal would provide employment to over a million citizens across 44 states. Moreover, he stated that the deal is reflective of the strength of the India-US relationship, which was also reiterated by PM Modi.

The French President, Emmanuel Macron, also attended the launch of the Air India-Airbus partnership virtually. Remarkably, Tata Group’s acquisition of 250 aircraft from Airbus is the world’s largest aviation deal in history. Macron also took to Twitter, where he called the deal to be a new phase of India-France’s strategic partnership and also thanked PM Modi for his faith in French industry.

PM Modi also thanked Macron for virtually being present at the event and also highlighted the ever-deepening relations between India and France.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak also welcomed the momentous deal for Airbus and Rolls Royce to provide new aircraft to Air India. Sunak also denoted the boost that economy will achieve with the deal as it is sure to create highly skilled jobs. He also termed it a major success for the aerospace sector of the United Kingdom.
