St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew visited Cayon High School on 5 October (Thursday) in order to review the environment and meet with the school teachers.
Prime Minister Drew shared the update of his visit on his official social media page in which he stated, “Today, I had the opportunity to visit Cayon High School, and I wanted to share some snapshots from my visit.”
He also mentioned that it was overall a fruitful visit, but at the same time, he was disappointed by seeing the school’s conditions and hurdles that pupils faceing. He also said that students do not need to learn in this environment, and teachers do not have to work in this environment.
“It was truly disheartening to witness the deplorable conditions that the school is facing. No child should have to learn in such an environment, and no teacher should have to work under these conditions,” said PM Drew.
PM Drew assured that the Government of St Kitts and Nevis is fully aware of the challenges that Cayon School is facing, and that’s why we are working tirelessly to solve this issue.
He also promises to provide quality education in safe and conducive environments to students.
PM Drew wrote, “Rest assured, the Government is fully aware of the challenges faced by Cayon High School, and we are working tirelessly to address this issue. Our commitment to providing quality education in safe and conducive environments remains unwavering.”
Moreover, he appealed to the community to come together and support the schools so that children have a brighter future ahead.
