Tornike Rizhvadze visit areas affected by natural disaster

Adjara: Tornike Rizhvadze the Chairman of the Adjara Government visited the areas that have been affected recently due to natural disasters. During his visit he got information about the problems of peoples.

It is to be specifically mentioned that this was a dedicated visit to these areas to get acquainted with the rehabilitation and reconstruction of infrastructure damaged by the storm in highland Adjara.

It is to be added that in the Khulo, Shuakhevi, and Keda regions of the municipality, the cleaning work is underway continuously. Moreover about 400 families have been taken to safer places as well.

On this occasion the chairman Tornike Rizhvadze introduced to the public also the reconstruction of the damaged road at several locations. He also introduced work being executed in many areas including in the valley of Skhalti and also in the village of Tsivadze of Shuakhevi municipality.

As per the latest information the cleaning work of damaged roads in highland areas of the Adjara is also at the conclusion stage. The work for the Cleaning has been introduced in the local, internal rural roads and surrounding areas of residential buildings. Hundreds of locations were cleaned of dry mess created by the natural disasters.

At this stage, almost 113 areas have been cleared and works continue on the remaining paved sections. The authorities also said that the remaining work will be completed on a priority basis as well.

Geological Service representatives also explored the area of the destroyed property at hundreds of locations. Following the geological conclusion further measures will be carried out by the representative of the geological services noted.

It is also to be added that the City Hall’s Natural Resources Commission is studying the damage caused by the natural disaster in the municipality and will be corrected shortly. Appropriate compensation will be given to families affected by the disaster.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council members of the Adjara government ,municipality mayors, Georgian Parliament, and Supreme Council majority deputies were informed about the ongoing works in highland Adjara and the time limit for the completion of work.
