Georgia reports 13,288 new cases of Coronavirus, with 51 deaths

In Georgia, the Health Ministry has revealed that the country has recorded 13,288 cases of Coronavirus, with 21,183 recoveries and 51 deaths in the past 24 hours. According to health authorities, the daily positivity rate for COVID-19 infections stands at 27.89 %.

There are currently 153,881 active cases of Coronavirus throughout the country.

Moreover, according to the Health Ministry, a total of 47,640 tests were conducted throughout the country within the past 24 hours. Among them, 28,888 were rapid antigen tests, and the remaining 18,752 were PCR tests.

Since February 26, 2020, the country has recorded a total of 1,539,493 cases of Coronavirus. Out of 1,526,205 cases of Covid-19, a total of 1,348,581 patients have recovered, while 15,771 people have succumbed to it.

The new 13,288 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in various parts of the country. Tbilisi – 6,242 cases, Adjara – 843, Imereti – 1,887, Kvemo Kartli – 656, Shida Kartli – 799, Guria – 476, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 937, Kakheti – 803, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 341, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 213, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 91.

As of now, there are currently 5,703 patients who are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Georgia, while 147,214 individuals are undergoing treatment at homes by consulting their family doctors.

Besides this, 1,256 infected people are in critical condition, out of which 287 people are on artificial ventilation. 

Until now, around 33.4% of the total population of Georgia has been fully vaccinated, which accounts for 12.4L people. As of now, around 28.7L doses of vaccine has been administered.

Last week, the Georgian government also reduced the self-isolation and quarantine period to 5 days for some specific patients employed in some particular government fields. Moreover, on Tuesday, the government has announced that they have allowed to re-open nightspots from March 5-6 with a maximum of 60%.
