Meeting of Universities Reactors held under Minister Giorgi Amilakhvari

Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth chaired the meeting of the Council of Reactors which was held in the Caucasus University Campus. The rectors of higher educational institutions authorised in Georgia participated and discussed the various aspects of the Georgian Educational sector.

It is to be specifically mentioned that during the meeting participants discussed higher education challenges and ways to overcome them and discussed future plans for further developing university education throughout the country.

The talk of discussion also touched upon important issues which included promoting Georgia’s participation in international exhibitions, granting universities the right to make changes in questionnaires, increasing the quota of Armenian and Azerbaijani-speaking funding students, developing three-year bachelor programs and the activities of Horizon-Europe university grant offices. The meeting also discussed the various issues which were raised by the Reactors of various universities.

It is worth noting that the Council’s meeting was held in discussion mode and the participants made joint decisions on a number of issues especially related to the country’s education sector.

First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Alexander Tsuladze and Deputy Nodar Papukashvili attended the meeting on this occasion as well.

Moreover within the framework of the higher education reform on the initiative of Giorgi Amilakhvari meetings with rectors will be held in permanent mode in all authorized public and private universities across Georgia, which will ensure the inclusion of the reform and solutions to problems at the level of higher education.

Several university reactors from different areas, as well as other representatives of the education sector were present during the meeting.A big electronic screen was installed at the meeting hall to present the achievements of the previous year as well as strategies that can be implemented to overcome the various challenges being faced by the educational sector.

It was agreed by all the attendees that this is a productive meeting and such kind of meeting should be held regularly in future.Minster, speaking on the occasion, stated that the central government is working very carefully to make the education sector of a country more stable and successful in the near future.
