The pandemic has forced film studios to release their new films on streaming services or delay theatrical releases, as the indoor gathering was banned. Marvel also delayed its MCU films quite a few times. Black Window was pushed to fall 2020 and then to spring 2021, but it’s releasing on July 9 in theaters and Disney+. All the MCU phase 4 films had to be postponed by Marvel as all are interconnected and in a particular order need to be experienced.

Marvel’s MCU schedule seemed to finally be set in place a few months ago when Disney announced the new dates. There might be some additional changes that might not have to do with the pandemic. Marvel postponed its most mysterious MCU Phase 4 movie by about a year. Back in March, Disney announced its movie release schedule from 2021 through 2023. It revealed that an untitled 5th Marvel film is scheduled to release in 2022.

The titles of eight of the 13 MCU movie premiere date Disney revealed are scheduled through 2023. The audience already knows the films set to launch this year and the four confirmed films for 2022. The four films of 2023 are still listed as untitled Marvel projects. A few weeks after that, a promo video teasing the return of MCU films to theaters was released by Marvel and revealed the release date for Guardians 3 and Ant-Man 3. This left the audience with three film slots for Untitled Marvel projects, including the one on October 7, 2022.

Disney’s MCU scheduled looked like a few days ago –

2021-

  • Black Widow – July 9
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – September 3
  • Eternals – November 5
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home – December 17

2022 –

  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – March 25
  • Thor: Love and Thunder – May 6
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – July 8
