European Commission donates five buses to Ukraine

Europe: The European Commission, with an aim to restore educational facilities in Ukraine, has donated five buses in an unconventional school run. After power and technical support initiatives, the Commission has now launched campaigns for the recovery of the educational institutions and facilities in the war-affected areas of Ukraine.

As per the European Commission, five buses have departed from Finland with the help of twelve volunteer drivers.

The Russian aggression has left thousands of schools totally in ruins, and access to the remaining schools has also been a challenge in Ukraine. More than 200,000 students have been cut off from education in the absence of schools and commute facilities.

As the Commission envisages, ensuring safe access to education will push Ukrainians towards a better future, maximise the development of their potential and restore a sense of normality and safety.

Additionally, the Commission has invited its partners to join the Solidarity Campaign for Ukraine. This isn’t the the first campaign that has been launched in support of Volodymyr Zelenskyy-led Ukraine.

Earlier, the campaigns such as the ‘Laptops for Ukraine’ campaign were launched to ensure that the citizens remain connected to the world. Along with this, it enabled the students with remote learning programmes from safer and distant locations.

Following the collapse of civilian infrastructure and equipment, the campaign aims to restore the civil services operations in the Ukrainian territory with donations of ICT equipment.

Further, the Generators of Hope campaign for providing Ukraine with power generators and transformers has been running in full swing. The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, donated a power generator on behalf of the Parliament. Moreover, the citizens across Europe have been making significant contributions.
