Europe: The European Union, within the framework of the European Year of Youth(EYY), has urged the youngsters living across the 27 member nations to voice out their vision and opinions on the future endeavours of the European Union.
In a recent Facebook post from European Youth, the EYY Ambassador Georgina explained the European Youth about process of sharing their vision, in three simple steps:
1: Click on the following link: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?
2: Go to the voice platform
3: Choose the desired topic and speak whatever is on your mind.
Notably, this is the first-ever voice recording platform initiated by the European Commission and totally dedicated to the European youth. As per European Union, the mission envisages empowering the young Europeans, irrespective of their backgrounds, by amplifying their vision for the future of Europe and the European Union itself.
The European Youth can express their opinions on any of the desired issues, be it employment issues, peace, security and related threats, climate change, education, inclusion or mental health.
The post read, ”We are eager to hear young voices, ideas and aspirations. No matter how small or big your visions are, we will listen carefully to reflect on them and take them into account for future policy decisions.
Throughout the European Year of Youth 2022, the recordings and the queries from youth will be picked up regularly as the Union is committed to staying directly connected through social media channels and starting discussions via comments and live events.
Additionally, the European Union will connect the youth to the existing youth programmes and initiatives for youth to utilize their maximum potential at this age. As Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, stated, “ ..if we are to shape our Union in their mould, young people must be able to shape Europe’s future”.
Though the platform has been created for 2022, the ambitions are far-sighted as the Union believes that youth is the most powerful catalyst for change.
