The Prosecutor Natia Nozadze, in her comments post-trial, said that revenge had been the major driving motive behind this incident. Further elaborating on the matter, the Prosecutor said that the woman in question underwent serious and threatening circumstances as the accused, Nakaidze, had allegedly threatened her with a knife and signal pistol before attacking her, inflicting injuries and raping the woman.

There is a large amount of evidence in the case pointing at Nakaidze’s guilt”, said the Prosecutor, noting that the investigation had worked to provide additional evidence that includes a photo and video material.

As a result of the incident followed by a trial of the host, Mtavari Arkhi went ahead with the suspension of the contract with Nakaidze. It further stated that the channel has been strictly against any kind of violence against women, thereby suspending the contract with those accused of rape and domestic violence.

The channel distanced itself from any kind of violence, especially those perpetrated by a man on a woman, which is not justified under any circumstances.

Also , it was one of the employees of the channel who had called in the police, so as the woman received help. However, the channel has said that it would reconsider its position over Nakaidze if he is found innocent in the proceedings of the court.
