Tbilisi: The death of the thirteen-year-old girl in the electrocution incident in Tbilisi’s Vake Park has enraged the public in the city. A protest has already been announced in front of Tbilisi City Hall, with the citizens asking for Mayor Kakha Kaladze to immediately resign from office.
As the sources report, the incident happened as the minor tried to retrieve a ball from the fountain pool along with the other two minors.
Three of them were immediately rushed to the hospital, where the 13-year-old succumbed to cardiac arrest while another boy sustained critical injuries. The third one, however, has suffered minor injuries and is out of danger.
The raging locals have voiced against Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, who had inaugurated the fountain. The government has expressed their deep sorrow for the unfortunate demise of the minor girl. However, the watchdogs and locals have blamed the corrupt procurement from the government for the incident.
The matter is being investigated under Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which involves breaches in construction regulations and the offender is liable to imprisonment of four to seven years.

In these most difficult moments, I wholeheartedly share the grief of the family members, relatives, and friends of the deceased teenager and express my support to them. The investigation has already started, the causes of the tragedy will be established, and the strictest response will follow,” he stated.
