 Information Centre opens for Ukrainian nationals at Tbilisi airport

Tbilisi: A new information centre was opened at Tbilisi airport for the convenience of Ukrainian nationals on Friday. The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have supported the move. The newly opened centre will provide all the information about the services available to Ukrainian nationals in the state. Over this, it would provide psychological assistance and ensure them with hygienic conditions and first aid items as well.

Tbilisi: A new information centre was opened at Tbilisi airport for the convenience of Ukrainian nationals on Friday. The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have supported the move. The newly opened centre will provide all the information about the services available to Ukrainian nationals in the state. Over this, it would provide psychological assistance and ensure them with hygienic conditions and first aid items as well.

“In addition, the presence of information corners will contribute to the gathering of information about the needs of arriving from Ukraine, based on the analysis of which further activities of the Georgian Red Cross Society will be determined in order to respond to their requirements. The project also envisages arrangement of spaces for Ukrainian children designed as per their needs and care for them”,  stated the Georgian Red Cross Society.

As per the charge of  the affairs of Ukraine in Georgia, Andriy Kasyanov noted that such kind of information centres are expected to be opened at the Tbilisi and Batumi airports as well as the Larsi checkpoint in Northern Georgia.

The official thanked the organisations for their commitment and dedication toward the citizens of Ukraine that have been affected by the ongoing Russian invasion and had to displace to safer places.

The Georgian government has also extended a socio-economic support package for the Ukrainian nationals that have been stranded in Georgia for the last six months.
