The concert of “Basiani” at the Tbilisi State Conservatory was also attended by the Vice-Prime Minister of Hungary, Zsolt Semjén, who was on an official visit to Georgia.

It is noteworthy that David and Alexander (Lexo) Toradzes have always supported Georgian folklore and were constantly trying to present it with their own work.

“Toradze International Music Festival” started on May 30. The festival was opened by Alexander (Lexo) Toradze’s friends – conductor Vakhtang Machavariani and pianist Vladimir Feltsman, together with Tbilisi’s Evgeny Mikeladze Symphony Orchestra.

The nine-day festival has a diverse musical program. World classical music stars and Georgian musicians participate in it.

Also, the festival will feature a series of traditional folklore music and master classes held by world-leading musicians for Georgian students. It is also noteworthy that during the festival, scholarships for talented young people will be provided.

“Toradze International Music Festival” will be held annually in Georgia. The festival, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, in cooperation with the “Toradze Foundation” and the Foundation “Georgian Chant”, was founded on the immortalization of Alexander Toradze’s name and the year after his death.
