Tbilisi: Lia Gigauri, First Deputy Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality, held a working meeting of the thematic advisory group of the Government Commission for Civil Equality and Integration.
During the meeting, Lia Gigauri introduced to the public, the priorities of the state policy of civil equality and integration and provided information about the objectives set within the framework of the strategy.
The First Deputy Minister of State detailed the outcomes of strategic priorities – access to quality education to support state language integration – at different levels of education and the dynamics of the implementation of planned activities within individual dimensions. The public was also informed about the needs for monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
At the same time, Deputy Ministers of Education and Science – Nodar Papukashvili and Tamar Makharashvili presented a report on strategy implementation at the meeting of the Consultative Mechanism Working Group.
Deputy Ministers provided detailed information to the present community within the framework of the State Strategy on Civil Equality and Integration, the popularization and the quality of teaching Georgian language in ethnic minorities, as well as the access to quality education organized and planned by the Ministry of Education and Science Meeting was held in interactive mode on the lyrical events.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science will answer the questions of participating experts, NGOs, and international and donor organizations, discussing the generation of opinions and recommendations for the effective implementation of the tasks set out in the Action Plan.
The thematic working group functions within the Government Commission for Civil Equality and Integration and aims to promote the implementation of the State Strategy on Civil Equality and Integrated and Action Plan 2021-2030.
The working group was attended by NGOs working on education and state language issues, including representatives of the National Council of Minority with the Public Protector’s Apparatus.
The meeting was held in cooperation with the UN Development Program in Georgia and with the support of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
