The Georgian Minister of Education and Science –Giorgi Amilakhvari, hosted the new ambassador of the United States of America, Robin Danigan, personally congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success.
After Speaking with the Ambassador, the Minister discussed in detail the ongoing projects at all levels of education, which are being implemented at this stage in cooperation with the US Embassy and USAID.
The meeting participants discussed the projects’ objectives and evaluated the results achieved in this direction.
The Supporters noted that each project, which is implemented in partnership with the US, is in complete line with the priorities of the Ministry of Education and Science and ongoing reforms.
The meeting participants discussed the prospects for strengthening cooperation between Georgian and American universities to increase the number of joint double international quality educational programs in Georgia even more.
According to the education minister, cooperation with the United States of America in this regard and the admission of US universities to Georgia is essential.
As mentioned at the meeting, to expand connections between Georgian and American universities, the US Embassy will organize the visit of the Minister of Education and Science and Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science to the United States for the following year.
At the end of the meeting, Robin Danigan gave a high evaluation of the reforms in the Ministry and expressed his full support to the Minister in terms of implementing future joint projects.
Giorgi Amilakhvari is the Minister of education and science of Georgia. He was appointed by the prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili. He was born on January 1, 1984. He completed his graduation from Tbilisi State University. He is 39 years old. He is a married man with two children.
