Tbilisi: Giorgi Amilakhvari, The Education and Science Minister of Georgia, congratulated the student community of Georgia on the eve of International Student Day. International Student Day is celebrated every year on 17th November.
While congratulating the students, he stated that it was a great moment to see that Georgia had joined the world initiative to celebrate International Student Day.
He also stressed that studenthood is the main driving force behind the modern democratic values and progressive future of the country. The Government of Georgia vowed to provide every kind of assistance to students, the minister added.
He said that the Government is always ready to give access to quality education to all the students of the country. He additionally said that the Georgian Government will make the education infrastructure easily accessible to all.
He further said, “I am very proud of the talented and hardworking students of the country who have achieved success in different fields of study. The contribution of the student community is invaluable ”.
Notably, every year, Student Day is celebrated in the memories of those students who lost their precious lives in Prague during World War II. On the day of 17th November 1939, Nazi authorities executed the nine students without holding any proper trial.
Moreover, the Nazi official also imprisoned thousands of students along with killing and torture of many students as well.
He also encouraged the students to do their best so that the country can make new achievement at the international level.
He also said, “I would like to address the students of my country personally and want them to know I always stood by the side of the students and will do my best to assist the students so that they can implement innovative ideas to make the country proud”.
