Giorgi Amilakhvari, the education and science minister of Georgia, held a meeting with school teachers of the Guria region on 16th November 2023. More than three hundred teachers from the area attended the meeting. The meeting aimed to discuss the various issues related to the education sector of the country.
This historic meeting took place in Ozurgeti City. The key issues that were discussed on a priority basis include improving the pay policy, promoting teachers’ professional development, upgradation of the school infrastructure, and many other important challenges and issues being faced by the education sector of the country.
The meeting hall was full of the teachers. All were very happy to have a meaningful meeting with the minister of education and science.
While addressing the teachers, the education minister said, “We are holding continue meetings with the educators of the country. These meetings aim to apprised the teaching community regarding the important reforms and productive initiatives taken by the education ministry.
Minister further added that the Ministry is making many efforts for the development of the education sector of the country. The need of the hour is to make collective efforts.This collective effort must be taken by all the stakeholders, including teachers, school managements, and professional and technical education institutions.
On this occasion, many teachers also share their views with the education minister. Most of the teachers appreciated the innovative policies and decisions taken by the education ministry.
Teaher also shares their experience regarding school infrastructure, curriculum, syllabus, technical techniques, etc.
They make various suggestion, that needs to be implemented for making the education sector more successful. They thanked the education minister for this opportunity and for listening them attentively.
Minister encouraged the teachers to do their best so that their students can achieve extraordinary achievement in their academic as well as professional lives. He also said that the government is planning to bring policies for the welfare of teachers.
