Gender Champions Award ceremony held at Tbilisi

Tbilisi: In a significant event Gender Champions 2023 award distribution ceremony was held at Tbilisi, the capital city of the Republic of Georgia. At this occassio Georgian NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) Women Information Centre won the award from Georgia.

The award ceremony was held under the framework of the 22nd CAREC (Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program)Conference of Ministers. Moreover, this award ceremony hosted 11 organizations from different countries around the world. These countries were awarded the international award for the promotion of gender equality in various categories.

It is worth mentioning that a prominent Non government al organization in Georgia, namely the Women’s Information Center (WIC), is the winner of a prestigious international program from Georgia. WIC(Women Information Centre) is a leading organization in Georgia that have taken many initiatives for the upliftment of Women’s living standard.

NGO Women Information Centre also led the program to bring gender Equality across Georgia. Recently NGO Women Information Centre has announced to be part of Sixteen day international campaign against violence on women.

Notably, CAREC awards are considered as recognition for various organizations that are deeply committed to promoting gender equality and women’s rights in any part of the world .

The award further underlines recognition and respect for those people who are making significant steps towards advancing gender equality,” CAREC representative added.

The award ceremony for GENDER CHAMPIONS for the year 2023 was held in Tbilisi, the capital of the Republic of Georgia, as part of the 22nd Ministerial Conference of CAREC.
The event has hosted 11 organizations from around the world that received the international award for their efforts in promoting gender equality.
The CAREC Award acknowledges organizations that have significantly worked to promote gender equality and advancing women’s rights.

CAREC award for the Gender Equality aims to recognize the extraordinary and unique contribution of different organizations.The main countries that are part of the CAREC are Azerbaijan, People’s Republic of China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan,

Some countries have the poor record in the field of women rights.
