CIU to host seminar: “Our Army”

Tbilisi: On December 4, 2023, there will be a seminar on the Georgian army under the theme of “Our army” at the campus of Caucasus International University. This is being organised to promote civil-military relations in the country.

As per the information shared by the university, this seminar will be held in hall number 305 at 14:00. This was being organised by the Department of Strategic Communication and Public Relations of the Defence Ministry of Georgia. This will boost the patriotic spirit among the youth and also make the armed forces popularise across the country.

It is to be specifically mentioned that under the aim of the seminar, the military staff of the army will hold a dedicated presentation for the students of the Social and Humanities Department of Caucasus International University. This will provide detailed information to students on various topics ranging from the code of defence forces to the history of the Georgian Defence Forces, military values, military tasks, current reforms in the defence sector, and education about employment opportunities in BISA and Defence Forces.

It is worth mentioning that CIU frequently holds seminar on various topics. This seminar will also make the students aware of the importance of Georgia’s Defence sector. Strong civil and military relations are considered the backbone of any country.

Over time, a lack of interest among the youth in joining the armed forces has caused concern. Many educated students prefer to get themself employed in the private sector as Multinational companies are offering a Lucrative pay scale to skill-educated youth.

Presentation under this project will further encourage the youth to join the armed forces. With the advacnement to technology, the defence sector also needs highly skilled youth to be its part.

Key speaker of the seminar will further address the participants on patriotism. Only a patriotic-oriented society can make the defence sector more stronger. Unless and Until youth is taught patriotism, they will not show any interest in the defence forces of the country.

Students also expressed happiness about the organisation of this seminar and said that this will provide them with a unique opportunity to learn about the defence forces of the country in detail.
