There are very few comedy serial shows that have generated as much hype and excitement as “Russian Doll.” Directed by Leslye Headland and Jamie Rabbit, Russian Doll is a web television series that first released in 2019. The first season contains eight episodes, each almost a half-hour long. Ever since its release, it has developed a behemoth fan base. Enjoyed by viewers and critics alike, this show immediately got the go-ahead for a second season.
Natasha Lyonne received a nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series,” all thanks to her excellent acting. This award itself speaks for how good the show is. Nadia (Natasha), our protagonist, celebrates her 36th birthday rather wildly. Despite being the guest of honor, she behaves rather poorly at her party. Release Date: Russian Doll Season 2
The show got the go-ahead for the second season in 2019. However, the release date is still up for speculation. February 2020 was the initial date for production to start. Although, keep in mind that this was before the coronavirus pandemic struck. The virus has now caught the whole world in its grasp and is showing no sign of slowing down. There is a delay in production for many shows. As a result, the new season may release late in 2020 or early 2021. We don’t know anything yet. Don’t worry; we will keep you posted with updates!
Cast: Russian Doll Season 2
The cast will mostly remain the same as the previous season. Natasha Lyonne will be playing the character, Nadia Vulvokov while Charlie Barnett will retain his role as Alan. Greta Lee will return as Maxine while Yul Vazquez will also return as JohnReyes. Elizabeth Ashley will also return. Some of the guest actors may return; this all depends on the new script. However, it is unlikely that we will see any new additions to the cast.
Storyline: Russian Doll
The Russian Doll revolves around the girl, Nadia Vulvokov. On her 36th birthday, Nadia gets trapped in a video game along with her best friend, Alan. She dies in a mishap while trying to find her beloved cat. Caught in a time loop, she keeps waking up every morning as if nothing happened. Thus, Nadia gets trapped at her birthday party. This series is somewhat similar to the movie “Happy Death Day.” However, Alan and Nadia soon get caught in different timelines, thus bringing Season 1 to an end.
Plot: Russian Doll Season 2
Season 2 will continue the exciting story from the previous season. It will be much more hilarious than the last season. The creators of the show have not revealed anything about the plot yet. However, they announced their desire to make this show a trilogy. We now know that all three seasons will be linked. The choice of making it a trilogy will make it much more mysterious and enjoyable. Are Nadia and Alan going to reunite? We have to wait for the new season for answers!!
