“All of you today are Ukrainians” says Ukrainian president to Tbilisi, other European cities

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on Friday, addressed the citizens across seven European cities gathered at solidarity rallies for Ukraine, including Tbilisi.

While addressing, Zelensky said, “all of you today are Ukrainians”, to the demonstrators who are standing in solidarity with Ukraine amid the conflict.

In his video link address to the demonstrators, Zelensky emphasised his gratitude for worldwide solidarity, encouraging them not to stay silent and to continue supporting Ukraine‘s efforts to combat Russia’s continuous military aggression.

If Ukraine does not stand, Europe will not stand. If we fall, you will fall. So, please don’t be silent,” he asked those people attending the support rallies for Ukraine.

Furthermore, Zelensky also stated that he hoped Ukraine would win the war, noting it would be a “victory for the whole democratic world.”

He added, “Vilnius, Frankfurt, Tbilisi, Bratislava, Prague, Lyon, Paris – all of you are Ukrainians today, and thank you for standing in solidarity with Ukraine.” 

Salome Zourabichvili, the President of Georgia, also addressed the protestors gathered in Tbilisi, reaffirming her support for Ukraine and saying she stood “where Georgia must stand.”

In a tweet, she said, “Tonight, I stand where Georgia must stand I stand with President @ZelenskyyUa and with Ukraine. The dignity of the Georgian people means that we stand with our friends when they fight for freedom, for independence, and for a European future.”

Ukraine is facing severe problems right now due to the Russian invasion. Millions of people have fled the country, and many have even died during Russian shelling. People who are strong enough are joining hands with the army to help Ukraine win this unprovoked fight.

Russia began its full-scale military operation in Ukraine on February 24 after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement of the recognition of the independence of the regions Ukraine of Donetsk and Luhansk on February 21.

The international community has also condemned the invasion, expressing support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
