Georgia: Work on the criteria for allocating apartments in the “Dream City” has been completed. The decision has already been made by the relevant commission.

The population of the city of dreams, the international organization UNICEF ​​and the Red Cross, a representative of the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia and specialists from government agencies participated in the work of the commission.

Keeping in mind the criteria developed in accordance with international standards, housing apartments will be given to all citizens living in the dream city.

According to the established basic criteria, people with disabilities, citizens with special medical needs, as well as citizens with social points, single parents, breadwinners, eco-migrants, internally displaced persons and others will receive housing.

The Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara Jaba Putkaradze and the Minister of Health of Adjara Nino Nizharadze provided detailed information about the criteria for the population.

Ramaz Jincharadze, Chairman of the Batumi City Council, and Eduard Nakashidze, Deputy Minister of Health, who were actively involved in the implementation of the “Dream City” project, were present at the meeting with the population.

The second phase of the construction of the “Dream City” begins; the new phase of the project involves the planning of the whole area, proper urban development, creation of educational, residential and recreational spaces.

In the “Dream City”, additional apartment houses, a public school and a kindergarten will be built, as well as a parking area, a children’s playground, pedestrian and bicycle lanes and outdoor lighting will be provided in the area.

The second stage envisages a detailed development plan and preparation of a residential complex construction project in one of the quarters according to the same plan.

As part of the first phase of the Dream City project, construction work is underway in accordance with the relevant recommendations, with the construction of three 12-storey residential buildings on the Dream City construction site in the final stage. Around 120 people are employed.

The decision to build the “Dream City” was made by the government of Adjara due to the difficult social and inadequate living conditions there.
