Parliamentary Delegation opened an exhibition of Archival Material dedicated to 30th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Georgia and Greece

Members of the Georgia-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group visited Nafplion, the first capital of the Democratic Republic of Greece, as part of their official visit to Greece.

The members of the parliamentary Delegation, together with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to Greece, Davit Dondua, opened an exhibition of archival material dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Greece in the Museum of the Military Academy.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the mayor of the capital, Dimitrios Kostouros, and representatives of the Georgian diaspora.

Members of the friendship group decorated the Diaspora monument created by Georgian sculptor Giorgi Gogua in the centre of the city with flowers.

According to the head of the friendship group, Givi Mikanadze, it is important to deepen further relations between the sister cities, Nafplion and Poti and work on joint projects.

The mayor of the city welcomed the visit of the Georgian Delegation and expressed his readiness for active cooperation with Poti.

Within the framework of the visit, the Georgian deputies held a meeting with the representatives of the Georgian diaspora living in the city of Nafplion.

The Georgian Delegation, whose official visit to Greece ended on June 30, included Givi Mikanadze, head of the Georgia-Greece parliamentary friendship group, Nikoloz Samkharadze, chairman of the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, and Aleksandre Rakviashvili, a member of the Girchi political group.
