Kobakhidze calls Juknevičienė’s statement that de-oligarchization is shameful

Chairman of the Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, calls yesterday’s statement of Rasa Juknevičienė shameful – the MEP said in the European Parliament that “de-oligarchization means Debizinization, Deivanishviliization “. 

“Ms Rasa’s statement was simply shameful. Secondly, her statement actually repeats what was written in the European Parliament resolution. 

We need clarifications in this regard. There is no need to mince words; we need to provide facts about how the country is run. No facts, no arguments, are only capitalized words; nobody needs their capitalized words in Georgia,” – said Irakli Kobakhidze on the air of the government TV channel. 

“If Georgian Dream party does not understand what de-oligarchization means, which is mentioned in the proposal of the European Commission, I will help them to understand – it means “de-Bidzinization” or “de-Ivanishvilization” of Georgia,” said European parliamentarian Rasa Juknevičienė in her speech in the European Parliament.

According to him, no one could explain “how, in what form Bidzina Ivanishvili is involved in political processes and how she can manage to control the whole state without appearing, as they claim”. 

“If you prove this, I don’t know how much it is possible for someone to prove it seriously but then admit that this person is supported by supernatural forces. They don’t admit it either and stubbornly repeat the same thing,” – says Kobakhidze. 

De -oligarchization is one of the requirements of the European Union in order to grant Georgia candidate status. Georgian Dream government representatives claim that this record does not refer to Bidzina Ivanishvili. However, MEPs have repeatedly repeated that Bidzina Ivanishvili is the only oligarch and informal ruler in Georgia.
