Georgia: Reconstruction and renovation of upper vestibule of “Avlabri” metro station is starting

Georgia: The rehabilitation of the metro station will coincide with the rehabilitation works of Ketevan Dedofli Avenue, which are being carried out by the Tbilisi City Hall Infrastructure Development Service, while the Environmental Protection City Service will restore and modernize the so-called metro station area.

Georgia: The rehabilitation of the metro station will coincide with the rehabilitation works of Ketevan Dedofli Avenue, which are being carried out by the Tbilisi City Hall Infrastructure Development Service, while the Environmental Protection City Service will restore and modernize the so-called metro station area.

The capital’s mayor Kakha Kaladze got instructed on the initial stage of rehabilitation together with the deputy mayors, Irakli Bendeliani and Andria Basilaya.

“We started the rehabilitation of the vestibule of the metro station “Avlabri”. The building is in bad condition, and strengthening works are being carried out. In addition, the interior will be completely renovated and redecorated. Also, the facade of the metro station will be completely renovated. The “green wall” that existed in the area will be preserved, and the project will be implemented with new technologies, after which it will be even more impressive and beautiful. It will take approximately eight months to complete the work. We have started the complete renovation of Ketevan Dedofli Avenue, within the framework of which the area around the metro station will be completely renovated. At the same time, we started the rehabilitation of Avlabri and Yerevan squares, where trees and plants will be planted, and recreation spaces, lighting, and irrigation systems will be arranged. Also, the area in front of the “Avlabri” metro station will be completely renovated.”



Within the framework of the metro station reconstruction project, the following will be implemented: construction strengthening and drainage works; repair/renovation of vestibule and utility rooms; repair and renewal of engineering networks; Interior (floor, wall and ceiling) finishing works, in particular, arrangement of tactile paths, facade finishing, as well as roof arrangement (waterproofing and water transfer systems) works.

In addition, taking into account the period of summer vacations, within the framework of the rehabilitation of Avlabri Square, the rehabilitation of underground communications began.

In particular, the company “Georgian Water and Power” (GWP) is performing the works of changing the water supply network, while “Tbilisi Energy” is renewing the gas supply network.

“Bada Group” LLC will perform the reconstruction works of the upper vestibule of “Avlabri” metro station, the cost of which is 4.2 million GEL, and “Artstudio Project” LLC will work on the project.

Along with the capital’s mayor, Giorgi Sharkov, general director of Tbilisi Transport Company, Giga Gigashvili and Levan Naroushvili, heads of Tbilisi City Hall’s environmental protection and infrastructure development services, as well as Isni district governor and the majority deputy of the Sakrebulo were present.
