The meeting also talked about the strategic relationship between the two countries. It was highlighted during the meeting that the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States is at the highest level. It was agreed between both sides that this cooperation is very important for the interests of the two countries as well as for the region and Euro-Atlantic security.

The parties reviewed the progress already made in this direction and the plans to be implemented for the process of European integration. The USA Ambassodor also congratulated the Georgia for the grant of Candiaidte status by Europen Union.

Notably, the relationship between both countries is very strong. Moreover Georgia is a key partner of the USA in the region of Eastern Europe. The strong relation also reflected through the fact that Georgia was among the top three troop contributors during the USA-Iraq war.

The USA also supports Georgia’s membership in NATO aliaog with Ukarine but until now this desire of Ukarine has not be materialised due to the opposition of Russia and some other regional forces.

Another reflection of strong bilateral relations is that US citizens who want to visit Georgia do not need a prior visa. They can get a Georgia visa at the entry points of Georgia, in other words USA citizens can get a visa on arrival like facility for visiting Georgia.

This was a detailed long meeting where both sides expressed their willingness to enhance further cooperation. It is to be specifically mentioned that before the USA, Georgia was inclined towards Russia, but later differences arose, which paved the way for the USA-Georgia bond.
