Georgia: Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili inspected rehabilitation works of Chokhatauri main square, Dumbadze street and parks within the framework of the “Renewed Regions” program.

Irakli Karseladze, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, has provided information to the Head of Government about planned and implemented works.

Moreover, the Municipal Development Fund allocated more than 5 million GEL for rehabilitation works in Chokhatauri.

Within the projects funded by the program, in 63 municipalities of the country, work was carried out to enhance the energy efficiency component of buildings, which will significantly reduce the cost of heating. Within the project, the doors and windows of the buildings were also replaced, and street lighting and recreational areas were provided.

A 4-year program of “Renewed Regions” covers 63 municipalities of Georgia, and its orientation cost of only the first stage is 500 million GEL. Executive, legislative and local government representatives were present with the Prime Minister.

Furthermore, on the same day, the Georgian PM also inspected the newly built school in the village of Guturi in Chokhatauri municipality.

Minister of Education and Science Mikheil Chkhenkel and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze presented information about completed works.

The school has 150 students, and now 92 students are studying. The building has 12 classrooms, cabinets, a medical room, a library, a study room, a computer room, elevator. The building is fully adapted for people with disabilities. The school is equipped with new school equipment; the courtyard is fully equipped with an open sports field.

The construction was carried out by the Municipal Development Fund, and 2,345 000 GEL was spent on the construction from the state budget.
