Finance Minister talks about issues of 30 years of successful cooperation between Georgia and Germany

The Minister of Finance of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili and the Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Svenia Schulze, who is on a two-day official visit to Georgia with the German delegation, spoke about the issues of 30 years of successful cooperation between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Minister of Finance of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili and the Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Svenia Schulze, who is on a two-day official visit to Georgia with the German delegation, spoke about the issues of 30 years of successful cooperation between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany.

From the German side, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Hubert Knirsch, and representatives of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany attended the meeting.

Moreover, the Minister of Finance thanked the German guest for his visit to Georgia, for the help provided by Germany and for the firm support of the country’s European integration.

Lasha Khutsishvili spoke about the role played by the Reconstruction and Development Bank, the German Cooperation Society and other German financial institutions in the development process of our country (energy, infrastructure, environmental protection, education, etc.).



At the meeting, the Georgian side briefed the Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany on the current state of the country’s economy and the structural reforms that the government plans to implement in the light of the challenges in the region caused by Russia’s hostilities.

Both sides, in particular, stressed the importance of ongoing and planned measures for the country’s energy security and energy independence—also the efforts made by Germany and the European Union in general to strengthen energy efficiency.

On his part, the Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany once again expressed his full support for Georgia and expressed hope that with the involvement of international partners, Georgia will be able to fulfil the agenda of reforms and will firmly continue moving towards integration into the European Union.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to expand cooperation further and noted that Georgian-German relations will remain at a high level.
