The Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Solomon Pavliashvili attended the thematic seminar to discuss issues related to the management of chemical substances.

Solomon Pavliashvili thanked the Czech government and the Czech Development Agency for the support provided in the direction of creating and perfecting the legal framework for the management of chemical substances in the country and drew attention to the importance of fulfilling the obligations assumed by the association agreement with the European Union.

The deputy minister spoke at length about the need to create a chemical substances management system for the country and emphasized the importance of sharing the experience of partner countries.

The conversation touched on the issues of new obligations imposed on producers, importers, distributors, and consumers of chemical substances, principles of management of chemical substances, and competencies of state institutions.

The seminar was held with the support of the Czech Development Agency, within the framework of the project “Strengthening the capacity for proper management of chemicals – implementation of regulation on classification, labeling and packaging of chemicals and mixtures and registration, evaluation, authorization and restrictions of chemicals”.



Representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, as well as the emergency management service attended the seminar held by Georgian and Czech experts.
