Ukraine: The International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA) mission is all set to head for an inspection today at the imperilled Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, occupied by Russia. With this, the shelling at the plant intensified near Energodar, where the plant is located.

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi stated about being aware of the increased military activities around the area. Despite of this, the team has been heading towards the plant to inspect and communicate with the Ukrainian personnel working inside the plant under the Russian command.

The shelling has resulted in damage to the fifth reactor as it has shut down as the country’s state nuclear power stated.

Not long ago, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant was completely disconnected from the main power line for the first time in its history. The fires at a nearby thermal plant were stated as the reason. But the shelling from both sides had damaged the reactors in the plant.

Meanwhile, Russian forces have been indulged in restoring the supply lines and maintaining a hold over the captured Ukrainian territories, said the country’s armed forces in an operational update.

On the other hand, Kyiv has been pushing hard to reclaim its Russian-occupied land , especially the Southern region of Ukraine. In a recent shelling of Kharkiv, at least five citizens were killed and left several seriously injured.

Ukraine hasn’t exhibited any intentions of backing off this time. The Ukrainian troops have since then pressed for counter-offensive in the Southern Part of Ukraine.
