Russian President Putin to probably attend G20 summit in India

New Delhi, India: The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov has expressed the probability of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, being a part of the G20 summit scheduled to be held later this year in India. However, the final decision from President Putin is yet to be made, according to a statement from Kremlin spokesman Peskov.

The Kremlin spokesman, on being asked about President Putin’s participation in the G20 summit in India, gave a sceptical answer, stating “‘It cannot be ruled out. As of now, it can’t be said as no decision has been made yet.”

Adding further on the same, Peskov stated that Russia has continued with its full and active participation in the G20 format. Moreover, the country totally intends to continue further with similar intent in future as well.”

In addition to this, Peskov claimed that the Group of Seven( G7) format somewhere lacks in representing the global economy as a whole. This is the main reason that Moscow lays emphasis on the G20 and BRICS(Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).

About the Western analysts’ report, which states that the share of BRICS nations in the Global GDP has surpassed the share of the G7 countries, Peskov stated that Keeping aside the findings from the experts, saying that the economic clout of BRICS countries in the global economy won’t be irrational.

Moreover, the G7 format ‘obviously is a failure’ in representing the needs and wants of the planet as the global economy is far from being limited to G7. Whereas G20 reflects the real state of affairs, which is what Russia is concerned about.”

Notably, the G20 summit is scheduled to be held in India in September 2023.
