In addition, with the funding of the Ministry of Sports, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Georgian mountaineering, a festival of mountaineers was held in Gveleti village of Kazbegi municipality. A massive expedition to the glacier was organized on October 3 – October 7, 2023, and 30 mountaineers participated.

Mountaineering in Georgia:

Every alpine tour and generally mountaineering in Georgia is an extraordinary adventure. In Georgia, tourists experience the lovely world of glaciers and eternal ice peaks.

During an alpine tour, visitors can climb lots of mountains over 4,000 meters and a few mountains over 5,000. The excellent thing in Georgia is that visitors don’t need to be professional climbers to ascend most mountains over four as well as five thousand meters.

Most famous Georgian mountains, like Kazbek 5.047 m, Layla 4.009 m, or Tetnuldi 4.858m, can be climbed with almost no experience in mountaineering. If anyone plans an alpine tour to Georgia, the trip will become an unforgettable experience for them.
