Lenard Larry McKelvey is professionally known as Charlamagne tha God. He is a radio presenter, television personality and an author. McKelvey is a co-host of a radio show The Breakfast Club with DJ Envy and Angela Yee. All of whom inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2020 for their work on the show.
Before working on The Breakfast Club, he worked as a radio person for many radio stations. McKelvey also spent time with Wendy Williams as the second mic on the Wendy Williams experience on VH1 . He worked in Guy Code, Guy Court and Girl Code. He was also a VJ in Jams with DJ Envy and Sofi Green. In 2015, McKelvey hosted show Uncommon Sense.

Early Life of McKelvey
McKelvey was born on June 29, 1978 in Charleston, South Carolina. His parents are Larry Thomas McKelvey. During his teenage he arrested twice for possession of marijuana and cocaine .
But for the third time McKelvey’s father refused to pay his bail money and he had to spent 41 days in jail. After his release, he attended night school and he did his graduation from Berkeley High School.
Career
McKelvey started his career with Z93 Jamz and he also spent time with WHXT. In 2006 he become second mic to radio host Wendy Williams. In 2008 he started hosting show for 100.3 The Beat . After a year a position of co- host offered to him with WWPR-FM to co-host The Breakfast Club. In 2011, McKelvey worked as a cast member in Guy Code and he also starred on the Charlamagne & Friends. He co-hosted MTV New Year’s live from Times Square and in 2015 he was a reporter for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show.
In 2014, he gave himself a title of “hip-hop’s Howard Stern by Rolling Stone”. The same year, he started hosting Uncommon Sense on MTV2. He published his book “Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It” in 2017. In 2019, McKelvey became the host of Emerging Hollywood and in 2020 he founded the Black Effect Podcast Network. Charlamagne tha God net worth is around $10 million.Â
