  • Makeup
  • Modelling and
  • Fashion photography

Artists from these fields can participate in this newly built international digital platform. Once the artists are selected as finalists in online challenges, they will be eligible to participate in Bright Black Fashion’s season grand finale.

The grand finale of Bright Black Fashion will be held in Dubai in June 2022. Those who will win the competition in the above categories will get a chance to work for elite companies.

The concept regarding the building of this platform was created by two Latino women, namely Andrea Laguna and Alicia Becerra. In the previous eight years, they both have come forward to join hands and began working on their idea to explore and support talents worldwide.

Andrea Laguna, who hails from Colombia, is a singer and has an experience in the field of business and finance. She came to Dubai after getting a contract done with UAE’s firm about eight years ago to perform at several venues with musicians from throughout the world but later became a freelancer.

She noticed numerous opportunities and began to consider how she might assist those seeking new starts or new experiences in a competitive international marketplace where continuous improvement is the only way to succeed.

“Basically, we want to provide opportunities to people with skills who haven’t got the chance to showcase everything they can do in their industry,” said Andrea.

Alicia Becerra, on the other side, is a businesswoman from San Luis, Argentina. She has been working as a fashion designer in Dubai for the last four years and has always been backing people to overcome professional difficulties to enhance their lives.

Alicia stated, ” This platform is an amazing start to push participants’ careers upward. There is too much talent and diversity worldwide, and several individuals put their whole efforts but didn’t get to the right place at the right time; all we want is to provide them with this special opportunity to showcase their amazing skills.”

Individuals who wish to participate in Bright Black Fashion’s contest can register on our official website – www.brightblackfashion.com, or on Instagram by accessing the link @brightblackfashion.

The process to register for the contest is very feasible, and anybody can register on our website. One can select the category for which they want to contest.

“Following registering, contestants will receive all the requirements through email for the category they selected and start the challenges for the selection team to begin the procedure,” explained Andrea.

To promote Bright Black Fashion, the event agency will host a tour in Latin American countries, including Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and others, to woo, support and catch people’s attention towards their platform, showcasing local and international designers. The first season will begin in San Luis, Argentina, which is a beautiful and desired touristic destination, and next on May 07, 2022, in the convention centre La Punta.

Michael Cinco, a Filipino famed couture designer based in Dubai for more than two decades who has dressed celebrities such as Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Sofa Vergara, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna, will be the show’s headline designer, alongside designers from the Middle East such as Salma Khan and brands such as The Victor Closet, as well as emerging designers from Latin America.

“We’ve to get the word out that there is a new opportunity for individuals who are serious about getting a chance to shine and showcase their skills”, Alicia added.

When asked about the challenges she faced while launching the platform and how did she overcome that, Andrea responded, “One of the biggest challenges that came with the situation in the last few years being so closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty that brought but it is now transforming into a strength when individuals are keen to reactive their lives, and Bright Black Fashion comes in the perfect time to offer exactly that, a new start.”

Furthermore, Andrea said, “Given the media collaborators we currently have globally, we can offer our sponsors and engaged growing audience, and it is the way we will continue to support more talents worldwide for this first season and the ones to come.

They can get in touch with us on our official email brightblackfashion@gmail.com”.

Since the last decade, the world has changed too much with the emergence of social media as a part of our daily lives. People are seeking inspiration stuff and want to see more relatable and approachable fashion things, which gives opportunity to a broader range of talents.

She further added, “It is fascinating to see the change, inclusivity and consciousness that is taking place in the fashion industry”.

Lastly, Andrea stated that she is also working for the second platform, which will promote and support the talents of people who are from the music and entertainment industry. “We will announce this move following the grand finale of Bright Bright Black Fashion in Dubai in June 2022.”
