Georgian PM meets Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, to discuss Georgia's favourable business environment in the country.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, to discuss Georgia’s favourable business environment in the country.

According to the Prime Minister, the creation of a special economic zone in Georgia will make Georgia an economic hub due to its strategic location and the current favourable business environment.

It was noted that in order to support the positioning of Georgia as a regional centre of trade and logistics, the government is making major investments.

The Prime Minister invited the delegation of Adani Group to Georgia to explore the business environment in the country. The meeting was held during the visit of the Head of Government to Davis. Adani Group is a multinational conglomerate, and its activities include port management, electricity and renewable energy production, mining, airport operations and infrastructure.

The Chairman of Adani Group is interested in investing in transport logistics, energy and industrial spheres in Georgia. Gautam Adani is 5th on the list of the world’s richest people and has a net worth of 123 billion dollars.

Gautam Shantilal Adani is an Indian billionaire industrialist and philanthropist. He is the chairman and founder of the Adani Group, an Ahmedabad-based multinational conglomerate involved in port development and operations in India.

Gautam Adani, an infrastructure magnate from Gujarat, owns India’s largest port, Mundra.

Adani aims to be the world’s largest green energy producer, promising to invest up to $70 billion in renewable energy projects.
