“Now it isn’t time for Ukraine to negotiate”,says Melinda Haring

Russia-Ukraine War: Melinda Haring, the deputy director of the Atlantic Council, stated that this is not the right time for Ukraine to be indulged in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to her, the Ukrainian military has been in dire need of the high-precision, long-range weapons that are actually capable of targeting the launch sites that Russia has set up in the Russian as well as the Belarusian territory before Russia strikes the Ukrainian cities.

Recently, the sources reported that the Russian army has been retreating from Kherson, and Ukraine is already in a much better position to be pushed to the negotiations table.

The strategically significant cities of Kherson and Kharkiv have already been witnessing the Russian army’s withdrawal from the region, which has become symbolic of the Ukrainian triumph over the territories. 

Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia had eyed upon the annexure of these strategic regions. Multiple aerial strikes had also been conducted over the critical as well as the civilian infrastructure to push out the Ukrainian citizens from the capital city of Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Kharkiv.

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has announced that he wouldn’t be attending the G20 summit that would be held the following week in Bali. In his absence, the Russian delegation would be headed by its foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov.
