Castries, Saint Lucia: The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire hailed the Saint Lucian singer and songwriter, Teddyson John, for an amazing experience at the Soca event, namely “Stripped” which was held in Trinidad, on February 8,2023.
While praising the Saint Lucian artist, Hilaire, in a Facebook post, wrote that- “On Wednesday 8 February 2023, our very own Teddyson John headlined, Stripped, an acoustic soca experience in Trinidad. Teddyson is a Saint Lucian brand ambassador, singer, songwriter, and percussionist who has been in the industry for over a decade. He is also the first Saint Lucian to headline a Soca concert in Trinidad and Tobago.”
As the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia noted, John is the first Saint Lucian artist to headline Soca Concert in Trinidad and Tobago. As per Hilaire, even the audience at the event throughly enjoyed the ecstatic performance of the Saint Lucian artist.
The Parliamentary Representative of the Castries further that event exhibited the depth of culture and the creative industries of Saint Lucia. Moreover, such events provide a platform to showcase the amount of talent that the citizens of Saint Lucia possess at a national, regional and international level.
Ernest also urged the citizens of Saint Lucia to follow the things they feel passionate about and reap the economic benefits of that activity. Hilaire stated: “I encourage all creatives to pursue your passion and turn them into positive economic activities.”
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Teddyson John for a successful event at such a platform. Notably, Teddyson John was the first Saint Lucian artist to be nominated and win the International Reggae and World music award.
