Saint Lucia: PM Philip J Pierre attends military parade

Philip J Pierre the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia attended the recently held military parade on the eve of the 45th Independence Anniversary of Saint Lucia.

The Prime Minister Philip J Pierre was joined by many other colleagues of his party and Government. On this occasion PM also receives the guard of honour from the military personnel as a welcome gesture.

PM Pierre also took to his social media handle and wrote in a Facebook post that “ I would like to Congratulate the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and Uniformed Groups for putting on such a spectacular display”.

The PM also stated, “ The Military Parade display is a crowd favourite at the Independence anniversary of our beloved country, and I was truly honoured and happy to be a part of the experience”.

“Happy 45th Independence Anniversary Saint Lucia. 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐦; 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲” PM further added.

It is to be specifically mentioned that the military band also displayed their skill and gave a mesmerised performance in the honour of PM Pierre.

Notably, the Prime Minister also attended the boat display by the marine unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police a few days ago. On that occasion, the PM saluted the bravery of the members of the marine unit of police


PM further  added that “Thank you to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Marine Unit for this exciting Independence 45 Boat Display. Saint Lucians got an opportunity to witness first-hand, the skill and also the intensity of the job that our men and women are confronted with on the waters.
We salute your bravery and commitment to securing our nation’s borders and the people of our beloved country”.

The Independent anniversary is celebrated every year in Caribbean countries on a wide scale. A number of events were held across the country to make the occasion memorable.
