10 best sportspersons of non-Olympic category honoured in Tbilisi

An award ceremony of 10 best Georgian sportsmen in non-Olympic sports in 2024 was held in Biltmore Tbilisi hotel there.

An award ceremony of 10 best Georgian sportsmen in non-Olympic sports in 2024 was held in Biltmore Tbilisi hotel there. The President of SEOK Leri Khabelov motivated winner athletes to work hard for making country proud at international sports event.

The award distribution ceremony was traditionally held on the jubilee evening of Radio JAKO FM. The president of SEOK Leri Khabelov addressed the society attending the event with a welcome speech and participated in the award ceremony.

On this impressive award distribution event many officials and representatives of best sports federating of country were present also. They members of these sports associations belonging to non-olympic sports category identified best athelets as per their recent perforamances.

The winners were awarded with medals, certificates and gifts. The name of winner sportspersons are mentioned below:

  1. Georgian Jiu-Jitsu Federation – Giorgi Gvelesiani
  2. Georgian Athletics Federation – Temur Samkharadze
  3. National Contact Karate Federation of Georgia – Goderdzi Kapanadze
  4. Georgian National Wrestling Federation – Guram Tushishvili
  5. National Federation of Power Fitness, CrossFit and Mass Wrestling – Giorgi Kvetenadze
  6. Georgian USHU National Federation – Alexander Kuchava
  7. National Federation of Georgia’s strongest men and mountain games – Avtandil Karmazanashvili
  8. Arm wrestling – Vakhtang Akhobadze
  9. Georgian Motor Sports Federation – Data Kajaia
  10. Rugby Union of Georgia – Davit Niniashvili

At the same time the foundation was laid for the award named after Badri Prakatsishvili, which was given to the winners of three sports categories mentioned below:

  1.  Giorgi Chkhikvadze – champion of the Youth Olympic Games in Greco-Roman style wrestling, European and World Champion between 23 years
  2.  Giorgi Nikoladze – European Championship bronze medalist in Parataekwondo
  3.  Vakhtang Akhobadze – World Champion in Paramklavchidi

The event was held with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Sport. The winner of awards extended their gratitude for the officials and sports federations for recognising their success. They also reiterated their commitment for the the making best efforts for making country proud.
