Another 60 families affected by cooperative housing construction were given living spaces in Didi Dighomi, Archil King Street N23. Construction works at this address were carried out by the company “Badeni Development”.
The symbolic keys of the apartments were handed over to the citizens by the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, and he congratulated them on their new home.
“Today is February 24, 2026. This date may not tell much, but I know exactly what it means for those 26 families in Tbilisi, whose investments made by fathers, mothers, and grandparents are returning today in the form of residential apartments. A problem that started in the 80s and 90s of the last century, which was behind thousands of families affected by cooperative housing, was considered unsolvable. I remember the first meeting with the population during the 2017 election campaign. We promised them that we would start studying the issue and find ways to solve this problem, which has been ongoing for several decades, said Kakha Kaladze.
According to him, more than 2,500 affected people have already been satisfied with housing, and 12 more projects will be completed this year, in which an additional 575 families will be satisfied.
The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, noted, “Today is a special day not only for the families affected by the cooperative housing construction, but also for every employee of Tbilisi City Hall, who is directly involved in this difficult process.”
He said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Vice-Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze, my deputies, and every employee of the municipality for the work that was involved in solving this difficult issue since the first day.” “Personally, I am a happy person because it is very nice to make many families happy with the things you have done and the steps you have taken,” Tbilisi Mayor added.
Kakha Kaladze stated, “I would like to thank Baden Development Company for completing the construction work ahead of schedule at the end of 2025. This is how a responsible company that knows what each year or month means to these families acts.
“I heartily congratulate the newlyweds. I wish them a happy life under their own roof, development, and progress. This year, 12 projects will be completed, within which 575 more families will be satisfied, – said the mayor of Tbilisi.
The process of compensating people with residential areas affected by cooperative housing construction continues actively. Satisfaction with the territories of affected citizens was Kakha Kaladze’s pre-election promise in 2017. Implementation of the program started in 2018, the goal of which is to transfer alternative areas to the affected population.
Vice-Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze, Deputy Mayor and Head of Property Management Agency Giorgi Kobiashvili were present along with the Mayor of the capital.
