Akhalkalaki, Georgia: The 8th National Military Service took the military oath on May 10, 2025 (Saturday) at the Zaza Peradze Initial Combat Training Center, Akhalkalaki. During the oath ceremony, 418 recruits recited the soldier’s creed after the event started with the national anthem of Georgia.
The Defense Ministry of Georgia reported via the official Facebook account on May 10, 2025, details of the oath ceremony. In the report, there were displayed images of the new recruits which looked very proud as they raised the Georgian flag which is a symbol of their dedication to serve the nation.
Furthermore, the head of the Initial Combat Training Center, Colonel Zakaria Kalandadze, delivered a speech at the event, thanking the recruits’ parents and wishing the soldiers well as they go off to fulfill their military duty for their nation.
Not to mention, The recruits’ parents and family members were also in attendance at the event. This gave the recruits a chance to share their feelings with them.
A two-month Basic Combat Training (BCT) special program preceded the swearing-in ceremony. During the combat training program, the recruits completed 8 conscripts.
During the two month training period, the recruits took in a wide range of military studies. These included introduction to the duties of a soldier. They also had instruction in basic first aid, fire fighting, organization of units and that which pertains to the actual combat situations.
Also the soldiers will report to the Training and Military Education, Logistics Support of Troops. They will also serve in the Aviation and Air Defense Commands, undergoing training in the National Military for conscripts.
They will take up posts in combat and support units for 3 day stretches at a time. The recruits who voluntarily signed up for the National Military Service will have a 30% increase in their salary. The other recruits will see a monthly salary of 635 GEL.
