In Georgia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said on Sunday, March 20, that about 2,000 Georgian citizens stranded in Ukraine were evacuated in the midst of a war with the involvement of the Georgian Government.
The Foreign Ministry also noted that the initiative taken by the Georgian Government to evacuate their citizens from war-torn is working effectively.

Moreover, the MFA noted that the Georgian diplomatic mission continued working in an emergency mode in the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv to assist the Georgian nationals amid the ongoing Russian military invasion of Ukraine.

Moreover, since the beginning of Russia’s military assault against Ukraine, more than 2.5 million individuals have fled the country, according to the United Nations.
Russia started its military operation against Ukraine on February 24 after President Putin announced the recognition of the independence of the Ukrainian territories of Donetsk and Luhansk on February 21.
Furthermore, the international community has also denounced the invasion, expressing support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Georgian Embassy in Ukraine, the Consulate General in Odesa, and the Consular Point in Lviv continue to operate in emergency regime to help Georgian citizens, as directed by the Georgian Government.
