Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia have detained 5 people for drug crimes in Tbilisi and Adjara as a result of recent operative measures and investigative actions. The Crime is punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The police also prevented the facts of the illegal sale of drugs on the Internet – they removed the drugs placed in different places for further sale and arrested 3 people.
Officers of the Kobuleti District Division of the Adjara Police Department detained I.M., born in 1975, convicted of various crimes in the past.
Arrested on multiple counts of attempted illegal purchase, storage and sale of a large amount of drugs. Police seized a drug containing buprenorphine as a result of his personal search. In addition, in the small town of Chakvi, under the direction of I.M., the drugs placed by him at different locations for further sale were seized.

Z.Gh., born in 1988, was detained by the officers of the Tbilisi Police Department Main Investigation Division for drug crimes. He is accused of illegal purchase and storage of large quantities of drugs, especially illegal cultivation of a plant containing a large amount of drugs, illegal purchase and storage of large quantities of “marijuana” and illegal purchase and storage of firearms.
During the search of the detainee’s apartment, the law enforcement officers seized as evidence: a firearm, up to 4 kilograms of narcotics “marijuana” cultivated by him, as well as various types of narcotics.
During the search of the accused’s house, the law enforcers seized 1 pack of dried “marijuana”, 2 packs of “MDMA”, and 39 cannabis roots were removed from the greenhouse for cultivating the plant containing the drug.
