Tbilisi: The members of the Government discussed today the draft of the Georgian government “On some measures to be taken for the transition to universal health care” on the amendments of the Georgian Government on February 21, 2013. According to the bill, from November 1, a new model of financing groups (DRG) will be put into effect in medical institutions.
DRG is widely approved funding model in developed countries that automatically calculates the fair price the Ministry pays for the quality treatment of citizens. The volume of funding will be determined by a patient’s diagnosis, age, length of hospitalization, and other criteria.
After the implementation of the DRG system, the patient will not have to pay any additional expenses while receiving medical services. The patient will only pay what is included in the co-pay portion of the universal health care program.
At today’s government session, the members of the Cabinet of Ministers also discussed the project of dissolution of the Georgian government “The right of Ukrainian citizens who have entered Georgia due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and the permanent life in Ukraine About social-economic support measures for people of Georgia on July 13, 2022, making changes in the disposal of the Georgian Government”.
According to the changes, because of the ongoing war in Ukraine, the entry of Ukrainian citizens who entered Georgia and persons with the right to a permanent life in Ukraine continues, and by the decision of the Georgian Government, the Social-economic assistance of the month will be extended until May 1, 2023.
The social-economic support program applies after February 1, 2022, to Ukrainian citizens who have entered Georgia and those who have the right to permanently live in Ukraine who are unable to stay in Ukraine due to the ongoing war On the way back to it. The social-economic support program includes donations for both housing and living conditions.
Members of the Government discussed today the drafts of the Georgian Government on “Approval of the 2022-2024 National Action Plan of Georgia for Implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security”, a Seve “for the approval of an action plan to combat and domestic violence against women and to protect victims in 2022-2024”.
Based on these action plans, the Georgian Government, in cooperation with partner international and non-governmental organizations, will ensure the implementation of all necessary measures to achieve gender equality in all spheres of unity, prevention of domestic and women violence, effective response and service delivery tailored to the interests of victims.
These plans have been developed with the support of the United Nations Women’s Organization and with the involvement of their experts and all relevant public agencies, representatives of municipalities, and members of international and local NGOs.
