Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew’s first New Year’s Gala, is all set to be held on January 7, 2023, Saturday. The theme for the Gala is “New Beginnings”. The venue for the Prime Minister’s New Year Gala will be the St Kitts Marriott Resort Grand Ballroom, at 7:00 PM, which will be Black Tie and Red Carpet affair.
As per the sources, following a huge demand for tickets for the New Year Gala, which would be hosted by the newly elected Prime Minister Terrance Drew.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Barbados, looking over Climate Change, Small Island Developing States, and Law of the Sea, Elizabeth Thompson, will be the notable speaker for the event. Ambassador Thompson also serves as Deputy President of the Senate of Barbados.
Thompson has previously served as Ambassador of Barbados to the United Nations as well as the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations.
In that position, she was responsible as one of the two Executive coordinators of the Rio+20 conference about Sustainable Development.
She was awarded with prestigious UN Award of Champion of the Earth in 2008 for her notable policy modifications in the mitigation of adverse effects of Climate-change and her leadership of National Green Economy Policy in Latin America.
At the Gala event, the attendees will be entertained by local artists, namely Dejour, Infamus, Mimi, Ek Real Right, Rucas, Queen Independent and Jnysis Band. Additionally, for the special evening act, the Jamaican Instagram Comedian and web star, Rohan ‘Quite’ Perry and recording artist and lyricist Bugle have been invited.
Quite Perry’s performances about Jamaican stereotypes, especially on Jamaican mothers have been really popular, along with his short comedy clips. His vlogging Youtube channel, QuitePerryVlogs enjoys a considerable fan base. On the other hand, Bugle’s lyrics and thought-provoking songs have made him an audience’s favourite songwriter in the recent times.
PM Terrance Drew and the organizing committee thanked the citizens for their support while apologizing the ones who couldn’t get the tickets for the event.
