Tbilisi: The Georgian Tourism Revenue in 2022 has in 2022, travel revenue surpassed 2019 and set a record high of $3,516,634,479. Dollars, which is a 107.6% recovery of the same figure of 2019 (+247,980,410 USD). Compared to 2021, travel revenues have increased by +2,271,692,761 (+182.5%) USD.
In the month of December 2022, travel revenue exceeded 2019 and reached US$363,306,614. Dollars, which is a 167.2% recovery of the same indicator of 2019, and compared to the month of December 2021, travel revenues increased by +237,255,596 (+188.2%) US dollars.
As for the dynamics of tourism recovery – about 5.4 million international travellers visited Georgia in 2022.
In 2022, compared to 2019, 71.9% of international tourist visits and 58% of international traveller visits were restored.
In the previous year, a total of 5,426,903 international travellers visited Georgia, which according to the statistical record, is a rise of +188.5% as compared to 2021.
In 2022, 3,652,949 international tourist visits took place in the country, which is +131.6% more than the same period in 2021.
December 2022 was distinguished by the dynamics of tourism revenue recovery. During this period, 564,656 international travellers visited Georgia, which is an 84.6% recovery of the 2019 data, and compared to 2021, the increase is +216.9%.
In December 2022, 304,616 international tourist visits were made to the country, which is a 97.6% recovery of the 2019 data, and compared to 2021, the increase is +110.7%.
The number of international travellers and international tourist visits is calculated according to the methodology that has been developed according to the recommendation of the World Tourism Organization and includes already made and completed visits.
