Tbilisi: In a shocking incident, an anti-social element has thrown paint on the Holy Matron Icon and defaced it. The incident has caused large-scale protests across many parts of the country.

It is worth mentioning that Before this tragic incident came to light, there was a civil activist, Nata Peradze, who posted this video. In this video that was posted on her Facebook page, it can be clearly seen that paint was splashed onto the icon of the Holy Matrona, on which Joseph Stalin is depicted.
As far as the investigation is concerned, agencies and law enforcers are investigating the matter to extract the truth.it is to be noted that till now, It is not yet known how the Patriarchate reacted to the incident.
As per the initial details on the incident, it has come to notice that the news of the placement of the icon of the Holy Matrona in the Holy Trinity Cathedral, on which Joseph Stalin is depicted, has been circulating on social media since January 6, 2024.
People on social media are also expressing their anger against the incident and demanding strict action against the accused of the incident.
People have termed this incident totally unacceptable and said that this is an act that can damage the social harmony of a country.They said that nobody should be spared who is behind the grave incident. People are also demanding the early conclusion of the trial to bring the culprits to justice.
Meanwhile a large number of people gather outside the activitist, namely Nata Peradze, which is situated in downtown Tbilisi. Police were on high alert, and all major roads were blocked that led to residential areas.
On the other hand, the official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that people must protest peacefully and must respect the law maintaining guidelines.
