Oni, Georgia: An expanded work camp was held under the leadership of the State Commissioner – Papuna Margvelidze and the First Deputy Commissioner – Christina Kobakhidze.
It was attended by the Mayor of the Municipality, Chairman of the City Council, Heads of Service and Heads of AIPS and SPESE.
At the working meeting, government representatives summarized the last year and discussed future plans. It was noted that Oni Municipality had an excellent acquisition of infrastructure in the previous year, which mainly included the construction of roads, crossings, public spaces, and sports infrastructure.
Notably, in the new year 2024, Oni Municipality has significantly increased its budget, within which priority projects will be financed as much as possible. A particular focus is on “Rural Support Program 2024” to identify priorities; meetings with the population will start on January 26, 2024.
During the event, the authorities learned about ongoing processes and planned events in different spheres and got acquainted with the activity reports presented by the municipality’s leaders.
It is important to have close communication between the local government and the population. Local government officials should be keenly aware of the needs of our citizens so that, step by step, we can address problematic issues.
Also, it is of utmost importance to implement planned infrastructure projects in a timely and qualitative way, for which all parties in the monitoring process require the active involvement of all parties,”- Papuna Margvelidze noted.
At the end of the talks, the parties noted that 2024 will be even more productive in terms of implementing different types of projects for Oni Municipality, for which they will continue intensive and active cooperation with all relevant authorities. Such meetings will continue in the municipalities of the region.
