The Georgian Minister of Culture and Sports Thea Tsulukiani visited the Meskheti Dramatic Theatre. She visits here to inspect the rehabilitation and reconstruction work being carried out in full swing as well.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the minister Thea Tsulukiani got acquainted with the rehabilitation process of Meskheti Dramatic Theater.
The Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Majority MP Anton Obolashvili, Mayor of Akhaltsikhe Municipality Irakli Lazarashvili, Deputy State Commissioner David Vardiashvili, Chairman of Akhaltskhe Municipality Council David Lomidze and other representatives of local government were also present. It is also worth mentioning that the Ministry of Culture allocated 14 140 000 Gel for rehabilitation work.
Under the rehabilitation work two halls will be arranged in Meskheti Theater. The small hall have the capaicity for 100 people wheras the large hall will be able to host the 500 spectators.
Moreoevr both the inner space of the theater and the facade of the building will be completely renovated, and the courtyard of the theater will also be decorated also. Eight hotel rooms will be arranged for directors and actors in the theater for tour/work, the building will be fully equipped with modern heating-cooling and fire safety systems. The theater will also have its cafe, which will host creative projects in turn.
Theater rehabilitation was started in 2023 and will be completed in early 2025 as per the estimates. By the decision of the Ministry Akhaltsikhe Salotbar School after opening the new Meskheti Theater building, it will be able to continue its successful activities there which will help the theater building, become a diverse culture center.
The Akhaltsikhe Salotbaro School was founded in the year of 2019. Two local specialists work with young people there Regent Ketevan Kopadze and Lotbar Zaza Tamarashvili. At present approximately 38 students are registered in Akhaltsikhe Salotbaro School.
The Ministry of Culture is actively continuing to restore and renew the infrastructure for the promotion and development of culture and arts.
