To promote sports culture in the country, Georgia’s sports and youth ministry is making efforts to strengthen the infrastructure. Now, a new football stadium has been established in Marneuli city with the capacity to accommodate 2000 visitors.
An inauguration ceremony was held to open the stadium for the sportsperson. Many dignitaries, including Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidzze, attended the ceremony.
The other government representatives who were present on the event included the  Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Culture and Sports, Tea Tsulukiani, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Irakli Karseladze, State Trustee in Kvemo Kartli, Giorgi Dokhturishvili, Members of Parliament, President of the Football Federation, Levan Kobiashvili, Marneuli’s  mayor   Kenan Omarov, the chairman of the council , Amiran Giorgadze and other representatives of the local government also.
It is to be mentioned explicitly that the newly built stadium complex includes all the necessary spaces as per the  UEFA standards (II category). The stadium has been equipped with a modern fire system and fully adapted for people with disabilities.
The football stadium has been built by adopting energy efficiency measures. These energy efficeiney measures included energy-saving solutions for heating cum air-conditioning, ventilation and lighting systems, and thermal insulation of roofing and walls.
The new football stadium is expected to promote football culture and a healthy lifestyle among young people in the municipality and the region. It will host not only local but also international tournaments.
Notably  the Georgian Ministry of Youth and Sports has been taking many measures to promote sports culture in the country. Many new stadiums, gyms, and other sports facilities are being arranged in almost all the country’s regions and major cities. The ministry efforts also brought fruitful results as many Georgian sportspeople proved their talent at international events, including the Olympics, where Georgian players won many medals  including gold.
It is worth mentioning that the project was implemented with the assistance of the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure with funding from the state budget. The total cost of the project was 8,200,000 GEL.
